This website shows Noriko Matsubara's work of Chigiri-e (Japanese torn paper collage).

Chigiri-e is a traditional Japanese art form in which pictures are created from pieces of hand-torn Japanese paper called washi. The history of chigiri-e dates from the 11th century when chigiri-e was often used in conjunction with calligraphy.

Noriko's chigiri-e is inspired by the natural world and uses newspaper instead of traditional washi creating a unique contrast between  subject and materials.
